synopsis

"Phenomenon" Jon Callis cannot stand the world around him – and for good reason: after skipping puberty the UNIVERSE is using every force possible to try and turn him back into a teenager. Slutty girls stalk him at school, teachers do drugs in class, a gang of 80's inspired thugs conceive dirty pranks... Jon's dream of becoming a data processor seems further and further away as his high-school years tick by. That is, until Ipo shows up to school. He is everything Jon isn't: obsessed with girls, drugs and prank wars... only problem is, he can't seem to act on any of these urges because the UNIVERSE is doing everything it can to get Ipo to grow up. His foster parents don't punish any of his wrongdoings and girls won't look at him... but when he meets Jon and is introduced to his world of sex, drugs and delinquency, Ipo reasons that the two could be close to solving each-others mysteries. As they begin to explore each-others phenomena, the UNIVERSE begins to build and deliver its vengeance via a team of "Recruits" that look and feel like real humans but have been programmed like robots by the cosmic forces of inner-gallactic expansion to kill Jon and Ipo. Shot in Santa Cruz County on a budget less than a dinner for five from Shoppers Corner, Phenomenon Jon will kick your ass.
